New Year’ Eve is a time when everyone has something to celebrate. It marks the start of a new year when people set new goals and think of new wishes. While some decide to attend parties in clubs, others stay in the warmth of their home. The biggest cities in the world plan mind-blowing New Year’s Eve celebrations that are always amazing to look at. Locations such as Dubai, Sydney, New York are the places you might want to visit for this day, especially if you are a huge fan of fireworks.

New York

New York had quite a lot to offer this year, just like all the previous ones. The capital of the world throws lavish parties attended by a large crowd. Times Square was once again the place to be at midnight. With various events and everyone waiting for the ball to drop, the Big Apple should definitely be on your list for next year. It was raining during most of the night, but that didn’t stop the people nor the celebrities to have the best time ever. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest featured performers such as Bastille, Christina Aguilera, New Kids on the Block and more. Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper once again hosted CNN’s Live New Year’s Show and the duo did an awesome job. Robin Thicke, Snoop Dogg, Sting and more appeared on FOX’s New Year’s Eve show.

Sydney hosted one of the most opulent New Year’s Eve celebrations in the world. The Australian gem as per usual is all about fireworks. The top location is the Harbour Bridge. The night started out with rain, but that didn’t stop everyone from gathering at the bridge to ring the new year. Sydney is actually one of the first cities that welcomed 2019. The estimated number of people who appeared for the celebration is over 1.5 million. According to news outlets, over 8.5 tonnes of fireworks and 100,000 individual effects were launched around the bridge. There was one typo that happened during the show everyone noticed. A Harbour Bridge pylon said “Happy New Year 2018”, which made people laugh and make it a thing on Twitter. That didn’t stop the celebration from being one of the most opulent in the world.

The capital of France celebrated in style in spite of the tight security measures. Thousands of people made sure to appear in the center of the city to follow the iconic fireworks. Champs-Elysees is the main spot where everything takes place. It is a long street that people try to get to really early so they can follow the light show at midnight. This year it was a 20-minute spectacle with astounding fireworks. The security was tighter than usual for many reasons. But, the event was just as beautiful without any accidents.

We can’t forget about London, as one of the cities with breath-taking New Year’s Eve celebrations. The capital of Britain puts a lot of money each year presenting a happening worth all of your time. This year Big Ben has been under construction for a while, but the Brits still found a way to include it in the event. They included a special mechanism and kept the tradition going. The original mechanism had to be restored since it’s been working for almost 200 years. Big Ben was opened in 1859.
