The world is such an amazing place. It features so many amazing places, most of which we will never even get to visit. In today’s travel edition we rounded up some of the most dangerous roads ever. Adventurers will be obsessed with all of the picks. You will be scared just by looking at these insecure paths. All of them are surrounded by stunning nature, so you won’t be missing a good view if you’re there. If you ever decide to visit one of these roads, make sure you’re very careful.
Fairy Meadows Road, Pakistan
Pakistan doesn’t sound like the first location on your bucket list, but if you are an adventurist that is where you should go. It is such a unique country in many different ways. One of the most adrenalin-filled journeys you’ll ever have will be on the Fairy Meadow Road. It is located on the Nanga Parbat Mountain. It is the ninth tallest mountain in the world so you probably know what to expect. This dangerous path was built way back by villagers. Nothing has changed since then.
It is very breath-taking but also very insecure in the real sense of the word. There is nothing that can stop a vehicle from stumbling down or falling off. The worst thing is that this road leads to one of the most stunning sites ever, the Fairy Meadows. If you are all about an adventure you won’t mind the bumpy ride. This journey is not meant for everyone.
North Yungas Road, Bolivia
This one is also known as the “Road of Death”. If you have a final wish, feel free to take a trip on the North Yungas Road. It connects Coroico and La Pas. This is a very narrow path, with a width of almost three meters. There is only one lane, plus many unexpected bumps on the way. More than 300 drivers and cyclists suffer each year from one of the most dangerous roads in the world. Some of them are simply not aware that they have to be extremely careful if they want to stay alive. Sudden moves and high speed are a no-no when traveling on the “Road of Death”. In 2006 a new alternative path was released for use that actually helps you avoid the most dangerous parts of North Yungas.
Zoji Pass, India
Officially known as one of the most dangerous roads in the world, the Zoji Pass is located in Kashmir, India. This path connects Srinagar and Leh. The Himalayan roads are very insecure, but this one is on a whole new level. The most interesting thing is that it is actually very busy during the day. In winter Zoji Pass is closed. The highest point of the road is at 11,000 feet. If you by any chance love seeing places like this, it is once in a lifetime view. Not for the weak-hearted. The good thing is that it’s a fairly short one and spans at around 9 km.
Guoliang Tunnel Road, China
Chinese are famous for doing things the right way. That’s not really the case with this tunnel. It was built in 1977 when a group of villagers decided to build it. The government announced that it was way too expensive to spend money on a tunnel that only 300 people would use. That is when they decided to take things into their own hands. They used explosives to achieve the final road. It took the villagers five years to get it done.
