Jim Harbaugh fired back to a trolling tweet sent by Florida State coach Tim Brewster last week.
Then Brewster fired again.
After Michigan had a nation-best 11 players selected in last weekend’s NFL draft, Brewster tweeted “most draft picks don’t correlate to winning” and cited the Seminoles’ Orange Bowl win over the Wolverines last December.
Harbaugh was in Rome, Italy, at the time and didn’t respond when Brewster tweeted: “Most draft picks doesn’t correlate to winning….Just ask Michigan! #OrangeBowlChampions!” But Harbaugh has a history of not standing for “a shot across the bow,” as he calls it.
Harbaugh tweeted Wednesday: “@UMichFootball – We LOVE having our players picked, and our players love BEING picked.”
Brewster responded Wednesday evening with a picture of FSU’s Orange Bowl championship ring.
Florida State had four players drafted and none in the first round. It’s likely the shot at Michigan had something to do with recruiting, one of Brewster’s fortes.
Michigan beat Florida State for four-star linebacker Devin Bush Jr. in 2016 and has Bush’s father, former Florida State great Devin Bush Sr., working on the U-M staff and helping make inroads in Florida.
