The critically acclaimed CBS comedy, which focuses on a group of scientists and their friends, will finish with 279 episodes.
USA Today has the announcement that geeky superhit The Big Bang Theory will air its finale in May of 2019. It’s a good show, and even if I wasn’t marathoning the episodes, it did all right. It also earns brownie points for having a lot of jokes I get the punchline too while family members feel the breeze of a lot of the subjects flying right over their heads. Good show gang!
Before I left for work that balmy spring morning in McLean, Virginia, I placed my casually worded note on the kitchen counter where my kids couldn’t miss it.
CNN has one that I’m not entirely sure can be called a news story. It’s an excerpt from the book “The Widow Spy” by Martha Peterson. It hypes up their “Declassified” show coming out, but tell the story of a mother telling her kids she was actually working for the CIA the whole time. Holy Crap! There are family secrets but that is something to find out! It must have felt good to finally admit it, but doing that for so long good not have been good either.

The BBC reports on the passing of actor Stefan Karl Stefansson. his name may not ring a bell, but he played the villain Robbie Rotten in the worldwide megahit Lazytown in the early 2000s. The show was a little out of my age range, but I caught some of the episodes and it was alright. Later on, I read of the background of the show and the worldwide reach it had. I may not have grown up with it, but a lot did and remember the character he played. Farewell Sir. May your pain be over.

Snoop Dogg loves to put his name on stuff he enjoys, which makes a fair amount of sense when he’s hosting a game show or selling a line of fancy bongs, and now he’s venturing into a new field of branding with his very first cookbook.
AVClub has a look at the newest offering from Snoop Dog. A Cookbook! Cooking is always good and these kinds of books are good for the munchies at least or a start of an idea if you are culinarily creative. I’m not much of a drinker so gin and Juice doesn’t do much for me, but I’ll bet there is more in there to get those hunger pains growing. Fo shizzle…or something like that. I’m not exactly in the rap market.
One of the largest supermarket companies in the U.S. has announced it is phasing out single-use plastic bags in an effort to reduce plastic waste. The Kroger Co. says it plans to stop distributing single-use bags completely by 2025 across its chains.
NPR has a report on how the large grocery chain Kroger is announcing they are phasing out the use of the plastic bag in all its stores by 2025. Call me skeptical but I think this is more to get the name out than a serious plan to help the environment or anything along those lines. But still. It’s not quick but goods for them!
Intended penalty for bad manners backfires, prompts pub to make drastic change to its beer pricing policy. Just one month ago, Tokyo pub Konro-ya had the Internet applauding its unorthodox beer pricing system. While customers with the good manners to use the phrase “Excuse me.
Soranews 24 has a good one as a bar serving up drinks in Tokyo started charging those who are rude MORE (sometimes twice as much) for being a jerk with their orders. Something like that wouldn’t normally go over well, but it seems to inspire the assholes that caused the problem in the first place! But even though the staff has to put up with these drunk jerks, it’s more money for them so, how much are the staff really losing here?
