The Highlights From The 2019 Grammy Awards

Each year we look forward to awards season. Now that the time has come, we’re ready to do a short recap from the 2019 Grammy Awards. So many things happened, but we wanted to set our attention to the good ones. This year, female artists were much more recognized compared to last year. They are scoring more awards and looking better than ever.

Cardi B Wins Best Rap Album

Cardi B is officially a part of history. The “I Like It” star scored a Grammy for the best rap album of the year “Invasion of Privacy”. This is definitely not an unexpected move, knowing that it was one of the best selling albums, but also one that delivered countless hits. It was an amazing night for Belcalis, because she also took over the stage to perform her hit song ‘Money’. The beauty was wearing vintage Mugler all night long. All of the pieces she worked are from the label’s 1995 collection. The one which drew the most attention is the shell-like gown Cardi rocked on the red carpet.

“I f–king worked my a– off, locked myself in the studio for three months my n—a and then went to sleep in my own bed sometimes for four days straight—pregnant! Some songs couldn’t even get on the f–king album because my nose was so f–king stuffy from my pregnancy. While everybody was harassing me like, you not gonna do it, we know you pregnant, your career’s over—that s–t’s dwelling in my f–king mind while I’m workin!”- the rapper said in her acceptance speech.

Lady Gaga Scored 3 Wins

The legendary Gaga went home with 3 Grammies. The mega-talented actress and singer appeared in a silver sequined Celine dress accessorized with a very expensive piece of jewelry. Her necklace, made by Swarovski, included over 100 carats of diamonds. She won the awards for best duo/group performance, best pop performance and best song written for visual media. Bradley Cooper, her partner from the famous movie “Shallow”, had to skip the 2019 Grammy Awards to attend the BAFTA. Gaga did also perform the song from the movie, with a very electric appearance on stage.

“I’m so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. They’re so important. And a lot of artists deal with that, and we’ve got to take care of each other. So if you see somebody that’s hurting don’t look away. And if you’re hurting, even though it might be hard, try to find that bravery within yourself to dive deep and go tell somebody and take them up in your head with you.”- Gaga said during the speech.

Kacey Musgraves Is The Big Winner

The country star is the biggest winner of the night. That is mostly based on the fact that she won the Album of the year. Her “Golden Hour” did top many charts ever since it’s been out. This stunning artist was also fighting back tears when she accepted the big Grammy. Musgraves also got the Grammies for best country solo performance, best country song and best country album. What more could a person want?

“It was unbelievable to be even in a category with such gigantic albums … it’s really crazy. But I’m very thankful. Art is really thriving and it’s been really beautiful to see that. I would have nothing without songs. To me, it’s just all about the songs.”- Kacey explained.
