People can officially stop speculating about the next royal baby. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced that they are expecting their first child. According to the Kensington Palace, the Duchess of Sussex will welcome the baby in the Spring of 2019. It is not a habit for the royal family to announce an exact date, so this is all we get until the actual delivery. There has been so much rumor surrounding this topic ever since their wedding in May. Both Meghan and Harry did say in several interviews they were impatient to have a baby together. So that is why everyone was convinced the couple started trying right away. In the past few months, tabloids were full of pictures and stories that suggested baby bumps and now the news is official.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”- says a statement by the Kensington Palace.
The whole Meghan Markle is pregnant story escalated just several days ago during another royal wedding. Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank this Friday, and the wedding gathered all British royalty at one single place. The gorgeous Duchess of Sussex appeared in a stunning navy loose coat designed by Givenchy. Markle opted for the same designer who created her wedding dress. She also wore a Givenchy navy dress under the coat. The fact that the whole outfit was loose, made people think that the royal couple has something to hide. The former actress finished off the look with a pair of Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps, also in a navy color. When it comes to accessories, you already know they are a must at events such as this one. Her hat was from Noel Stewart, the clutch from Givenchy and the gloves from Prada. Just the perfect outfit to hide a growing baby bump.
Things became even more heated up right after the wedding. Harry and the Duchess started a tour in Australia, so when Markle stepped out from the plain, she was holding a large pile of folders right in front of her belly. Reporters never miss the chance to take a detailed look at pictures, so this time it turns out they were right.
Just like with everything else, there are certain rules that the Duchess will have to follow during her pregnancy. One of the craziest rules is that she has to wear heels during all her public outings. Flat shoes are simply not meant for royals. Even when she’s 8 months pregnant, Meghan Markle will still be rocking stilettos. Every royal baby is christened in the same robe. Prince Harry and Meghan’s firstborn won’t be an exception. The same robe was used until 2008 when they decided to preserve the original and create an exact copy.
The royal duo is not allowed to reveal the gender of their baby. There will be no parties and no baby showers. Markle has to keep it very neutral with the colors. The Duchess can only choose clothes and decorations in a hue such as yellow. Once this baby is born it will be the seventh in line to inherit the throne. This means that the child will be placed before Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. If it’s a boy it will be referred to as Earl of Dumbarton, while a girl would be a Lady.
