It’s official! The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a healthy boy. Now Kate Middleton and Prince William are proud parents of a young gorgeous new prince. While the whole public was eagerly waiting for this moment to happen, the Duchess and the Royal family tried to keep things as private as possible. But knowing the popularity of everyone involved with the British monarchy, you already suggest that it’s very unlikely. Photographers and TV stations set their equipment right in front of St. Mary’s Hospital days ago, and now it’s official news.
“Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”- says the official statement by The Kensington Royal Palace.
The Kensington Palace officially confirmed the news right after Kate gave birth on April 23 at 11:01 am at the Lindo Wing of the Paddington Hospital. Prince William was next to the Duchess and visited her again together with Prince George and Princess Charlotte during the day.
Only seven hours after giving birth, Kate Middleton and Prince William came outside of the St. Mary’s Hospital for a photoshoot. This is already a huge event, so you can only imagine the craziness that happened there at the moment. The Duchess looked sizzling in an elegant midi red dress by Jenny Packham with chic white lace collars. Even after such a short time after giving birth, The Duchess managed to look impeccable. She kept her makeup look to the minimal, with signature bold brows and a nude glossy lip. Kate’s iconic hair was once again styled to perfection. She and Prince William left the hospital and took their newborn royal prince home to the palace.
The newborn baby is currently fifth in the line to inherit the British throne. The first one is his grandfather, Prince Charles, followed by Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. With the birth of her younger brother, Princess Charlotte just made history. She is the first royal child that will not lose her spot on the throne from a male sibling. In 2013, Britain accepted an act that lines up successors only by age, not by gender. Until then, the male royal kids had the right to heir the throne before the female ones.
The Duke and Duchess still haven’t announced an official name. We might not have a name but the official title for baby No.3 will be His Royal Highness Prince of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. There’s plenty of guesses that will keep things interesting until we have more news. Albert, James, Arthur, Alexander, Philip are just a part of the possible names. Kate gave birth to Prince George in 2013 and to Princess Charlotte in 2015. The Kensington Palace first confirmed the news that baby No. 3 it’s on its way on October 17 last year. The predictions were that Kate Middleton will give birth on St. George’s Day. Since then, everyone’s been impatient to know more. Now the world officially welcomed the new prince, so expect to see plenty of headlines and pictures in the future.
The British royals are getting ready for another huge event. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be getting married on May 9 at Windsor Castle. We can’t wait to see what dress will Meghan wear and get more details about the whole ceremony.
