Beverly Hills & Riverdale Star Luke Perry Passed Away

Luke Perry, the star of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, has passed away. The popular actor was only 52. The news comes several days after the announcement that Perry suffered a massive stroke. He was born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio. Luke was surrounded by his closest relatives when he died. He has two kids with his ex-wife, all of who were by his bed in the hospital. The Beverly Hills star was also engaged to Wendy Madison Bauer who was right next to him after the stroke. There is still no knowledge about what exactly caused the death, but it is definitely connected to the massive stroke.

“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning-“- said Luke’s publicist.

Luke Perry first became popular with the iconic show ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, which first aired in 1990. The series was on TV until 2000. All of Perry’s colleagues from the show expressed their sadness of losing their friend. What’s even crazier is that on the day when Perry was brought to the hospital, Fox TV shared the news that ‘90210’ will be getting a reboot of 6 episodes with most of the same actors. Luke was not a part of the ones that were going to join the reunion. Although the series debuted in 1990, the actor was into the Hollywood scene several years before that. He had appearances in ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’, ‘The Fifth Element’, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, ‘Oz’, ‘Mortal Combat’, and more. It was a very long and fruitful career that helped him become popular all over the world.

“We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: An incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all. A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family in this most difficult time.”- says the official statement from CW.

Riverdale is one of the most popular series on TV. CW announced they will stop production for some time in order to mourn the passing of their friend and co-worker. He was playing the character of Fred Andrews, the father of Archie Andrews. This is a series based on the well-known comic titled Archie.

“So heartbroken about Luke. He was a father, brother, friend, and mentor. Each night before he had to shoot a scene, he’d call me and we’d talk about…everything. I will miss those calls. And my heart goes out to all his family and friends.”- Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, one of the main writers for Riverdale shared on his social media.

“I can barely find the words. I am devastated. We all are. I’m finding it hard to grasp that he will no longer be around to give long hugs and share his wisdom and kindness with all of us. I’m thinking of his family. His children. I pray for them to heal and find peace in this devastating loss.”- is Lili Reinhart official statement.

“I am in shock. Heartbroken. Devastated by the loss of my friend. I have so many memories with Luke that make me smile and that are forever imprinted on my heart and mind.”- Shannan Doherty shared with People.
