Hey guys, we're back.

I'm Levon.

And I'm Jessica.

And this time we're rockin'
the campus of the University

of Southern California.

It's home to the Trojans.

Fight on!

Let's go check out the campus.

USC's University Park
campus is just three miles

from downtown Los Angeles,
and just minutes away from

Pasadena, Hollywood,
Santa Monica,

museums and beaches.

Los Angeles, it's one of
the best cities in the world--

So much diversity,
so much culture.

You can go down the street
and meets tons of different

kinds of people.

Everyone's from
somewhere else.

And it's really exciting
to have that opportunity

in your backyard.

USC's campus
covers 161 flat acres,

and is compact enough to walk
across in less than 15 minutes.

The Renaissance style buildings
are constructed around a series

of plazas, fountains,
and parks.

And despite USC's size,
the campus and classroom

atmosphere is that
of a small college.

USC has approximately
16,000 Undergraduate,

and 16,000 Graduate students.

Fifty-two percent
of Undergraduates

are underrepresented,
seven percent are international,

48% are male,
52% female,

and the average
class size is 26.

About 21% of students
applying to USC are admitted.

The middle 50% have
an SAT composite score

ranging between
1910 and 2200,

an ACT composite
of 28 to 32,

and a mean un-weighted
GPA of 3.7.

Tuition runs just over
$37,000 for both in

and out of state students.

Room and board
add about $11,000,

and counting additional expenses
including books, fees, supplies,

and transportation will bring
your total around $52,000.

And with one of the most
extensive financial aid

and scholarship programs
in the country,

most students pay
a lot less than this.

USC offers more than
150 majors and 130 minors.

Students often take
the initiatives to set up

new journals.

I had students who set up
the USC Journal of Law

and Society.

Students sometimes
launch new minors.

I had students come to me
with a petition to set up

a human rights minor.

So students take the initiative
to set up new programs,

new minors, new journals.

So if you have an
idea for something,

you can work with
other students here,

and the students
are very dynamic,

and they take
the initiative,

and they make things happen.

The College of Letters,
Arts and Sciences

contains the most majors
including English, Biology,

Political Science,
and Economics.

The Marshall School
of Business

and at Viterbi School
of Engineering

are the next two
largest schools.

Hey gamers.

Try your hand at designing
and engineering videogames.

You can here at the
GamePipe Laboratory.

Computer Science with
an emphasis in games

is one of the most innovative
majors here at USC.

Game on.

You're going down.

USC's academic offerings are
rounded out by highly regarded

Undergraduate programs in
areas such as Communication,

the Visual and Performing Arts,
and Cinema, just to name a few.

Hey all you movie buffs.

USC has been ranked
as one of the top

film schools in the nation.

Here at the Steven
Spielberg Scoring Stage,

students can actually mix and
record music for student films.

USC's campus includes
state of the art laboratories,

and research facilities,
19 libraries containing nearly

four million volumes,
a 24 hour study library

with computer labs and rooms
for coordinating group projects,

as well as multi-media
equipped classrooms.

USC has approximately
3,200 full-time faculty,

and 14,00 part-time.

Twelve hundred are tenured.

The student to faculty ratio
at USC is about ten to one,

and I think what that
means for students is that

you're gonna be in
very small classes,

you're gonna have an opportunity
to interact with the faculty,

speak with them, and interact
with your other classmates.

The opportunities for discussion
in the classroom environment

at USC are really the
foundation of what

we're trying to accomplish.

We're a research university,
and we're very proud of that.

We want our students actively
engaged in the creation of

knowledge and discovery
and exploration.

We're not a place where you
go into a class and somebody's

using somebody else's textbook
or somebody else's articles.

You're in a class where the
professor wrote those things,

and you're exchanging
that with the professor.

The Trojans compete
in Division I athletics,

as part of the Pac-10
Conference.

USC doesn't mess around
when it comes to football.

They've racked up a number
of Heisman Trophies,

and National Championships.

The likes of Reggie Bush
and Matt Leinart have

repped cardinal and gold.

Students are guaranteed
university housing for their

freshman and sophomore year.

Ninety-eight percent of freshmen
choose to live on campus in

one of the dorm style,
suite style,

or apartment style
residence halls.

Living in the dorm was
a great experience.

I know right off the bat
everybody on my hallway

just opened their dorms up.

They were all very welcoming.

That's how I got to know most
of my major friends right now.

It was a great experience,
my RA was great.

We had a, you know,
an amazing time.

They were always open
to talk about anything.

There are over 640 student
organizations at USC.

I was kind of overwhelmed
when I first got here because

there's a cultural group,
there's you know,

academically related groups,
uh, intramural sports,

you know, groups based on
just hobbies that you may have.

So you know, there's definitely
something for every single

student on campus.

USC has its very own
student-run news station,

and it's open to all majors.

Try your hand in anchoring
for Annenberg TV News.

It airs here on campus
and around Los Angeles.

USC has quite an
impressive list of Trojans,

including architect
Frank Gehry,

actor Will Ferrell, and
director Ron Howard.

Josh Schwartz, the creator
of the OC television series

learned his chops here,
as did Chris DeWolfe,

co-creator of MySpace,
and Paul Orfalea,

founder of Kinko's.

If you're looking for
a unique college experience

in a historic institution,
with immense resources

and opportunities, then you
will find your home at USC.

Now it's time to
say Adios from LA

here in sunny
Southern California.

We've had an unforgettable
tour of USC.

We hope you can visit soon.

For now we're outta here.

For YOUniversity TV,
I'm Levon.

And I'm Jessica.

Fight on.

We'll see ya next time.
