Hey what's up? I'm Ferrari St Paul at the YOUniversity TV where we put you in university. Today we're here at Texas Christian University home of the mighty Horned Frog. Come join us on a tour.
[ Music ] TCU is located in a residential neighborhood about 5 miles from downtown Fort Worth, Texas and it's close to culture and entertainment as well as the airport and several major highways. Students can expect a modern metropolitan meets old west charm feel as part of the booming Fort Worth Dallas metro area. I love Fort Worth because Fort Worth is more, more Texan for a big city. Stockyards downtown, still got brick roads and traditional old saloons there. I mean people here still wear cowboys hats, drive the big trucks. The Texas Christian Campus features 269 beautifully landscaped tree lined acres with a great mix of classic college buildings and modern architecture. In fact, TCU receives its separate endowment just for landscaping. I was attracted to TCU because the campus environment and there's the beauty of the school and the people here are awesome and amazing individuals and it can turn my day from being a bad one to good one by just walking across the campus. I fell in love with it. Almost 9000 students are enrolled at Texas Christian and nearly 7600 of them are undergraduates. Women make up about 58% of the population and men make up about 42%. In case you're wondering what it takes to get into TCU. The middle 50% of test scores run 1620 to 1860 on the SAT and 23 to 28 on the ACT. Why students we accepted just under 49% of those who apply. Quite frankly every qualified student won't be offered admission. We just have so many people who want to come. We will be able to be more selective when it comes to offering students admission at TCU. TCU is a private university and tuition cost for our students including room and board, books and fees runs just over $39000 per year. Texas Christian University offers over a 100 different areas of study giving students some lots of choices to follow their goals plus with an average class size of just 27, students get the attention they need to excel at the college level. I like the one on one with my professors. I've gone to dinner with professors, I've gone to visit them at their houses, they're always available to me. It's been terrific and a great asset. TCU is considered a pioneer in higher education and if that you didn't know that they were the first to offer undergrad degrees in electronic business, international communication, and ballet. 87% of TCUs instructors and 97% of professors and associate professors have the highest degree in their field. Couple that with a very low 15 to 1 student to faculty ratio and Texas Christian students have the opportunity for a really great educational experience. We're all, it's a family faculty. We're you know a family, a community like our [inaudible] learning community. We are very close the students. TCU features 20 men's and women's varsity sports teams and legend has it that when the schools Amon Carter Stadium was built in 1929, thousand of horned frogs were discovered on the property further enhancing their reputation. Don't mess with the mighty Horned Frogs at TCU. This horned frog is actually a lizard and the Texas state reptile. Rub its nose before a test and you're sure to do well. [Inaudible] is one of the oldest cheers in college history. Rip ram mazoo, likity likity zoo, zoo. Hoo wah, wahoo, give them [inaudible] TCU. 19 unique residence halls gives students plenty of options for campus living including co-ed, suite, and apartment style living. I live in Milton Daniel and there's always something going on. As it's a piece of party or something goes on in the lounge where the football game and everyone's watching in and there's nachos and popcorn and you could play pool. We have arcade games in there and there's always a door open, you can go in and hang out with someone and meet someone new. Campus life features over 200 clubs and organizations, so there's a little something for everyone. Oh at TCU they make it very easy to find your niche and frog campus is one of those ways. Everything from athletic organizations, sport clubs to academic to social organizations. There's always something going on. There's never a time when the schools just [inaudible]. There's a lot of different clubs and little communities that any student can join. If you’re looking for a great career in business, you’ve come to the right place! U.s. news & world report ranks tcu’s m.j. neeley school of business number 18 in the nation for best undergraduate business specialities: entrepreneurship, business week ranks the undergrad business school 34th and forbes named it along the best business schools for return on investment for the mba program. It true when they say everything's fair in Texas. This TCU Collegiate Barnes & Nobles is the largest of its kind in the nation. Nothing is out of reach at TCU. Here at the Monnig Meteorite Gallery students can touch meteorites over four and a half billion years old. So if you're looking for a great education with a lot of great career paths and a medium sized university in the heart of a bustling metropolis, be sure to check out Texas Christian University. Thanks for joining us here in Fort Worth, Texas on our tour of Texas Christian University. I'm Ferrari St Paul with the YOUniversity TV. Y'all come back now.
