[background music] Hey guys, I'm Ferrari St. Paul with Youniversity TV. Check out the beautiful white mountains and at the bottom of the slopes you'll find Plymouth State University, a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and get a top education. PSU is surrounded by some of the countries most beautiful and accessible natural landscapes. Outdoor recreational opportunities are within easy access.

You can get to Boston in an hour and 45 minutes but as far as the region is concerned you have the mountains that are a half an hour north, you have a river regions right below us, you have a river that goes right through town, its just amazing. You can get out of class at 2:30 and you can be in the mountains by 3:00 and you can get a nice hike in on like a Tuesday afternoon. And there's not too many places you can do that and still have time to come home and get your homework done and eat dinner.

We've got not just hiking, skiing, camping, boating, all the things, all the recreational things. We're in a vacation land. This is where people come to vacation. But we also have all sorts of resources that are great for students because of the area we're in that they can study. So we have locale, Plymouth, but we also have the greater geographic region and then we have all of Northern New England that's our classroom and we use it that way.

Plymouth State's 170 acre campus overlooks the classic New England town of Plymouth, recently named one of the 50 next great places to live by National Geographic Adventure Magazine.

In downtime students actually, here this is actually kind of called the mall or the green in front of Mary Lyon. Students will be out here playing Frisbee, playing volleyball, you see people out here playing guitars, sun bathing, a lot of times when it's really nice as well classes will actually come outdoors, sit down kind of more in a circle and have more of a discussion as opposed to sitting in the classroom. So students really take advantage of the campus. Downtown is literally a stone throw away so even if you wanted to kind of venture down there to get something to drink, maybe grab something to eat, even if you want to go to a movie, it's all probably within about a 3 minute walking distance. So there's a lot to do right within the area itself.

PSU has 4,300 undergraduates, just over half are male, 2.4% are people of color and there is a 17 to 1 student to faculty ratio. Seventy one percent of applicants were accepted into Plymouth without a minimum score, although most new students do have an SAT score between 900 and 1100. Direct cost including tuition, fees and room and board are about $17,000 for in stater's and around $23,000 for out of stater's. Plymouth offers more than 45 separate undergraduate degree programs, 75 graduate degree and certificate programs and personal development opportunities.

Obviously the school is really known for its education program. Business is a very strong program as well. Meteorology is a very fast growing program here on campus just because of where we're located, the different resources we have in the area. Music, theatre, dance very strong, criminal justice strong, communications is growing pretty widely as well so there's a pretty wide range for what students can major in.

Plymouth State is best known for their programs in teacher education, business, athletic training, adventure education and meteorology. If forecasting is in your future, here's a prediction. Plymouth State University will be a great start to your meteorology career. Look at all this cool equipment including this sling psychrometer. [noise] Oh man, it's humid today. PSU features 188 professors and instructors with 94% holding a doctoral or a terminal degree in their field. The Plymouth State Panthers compete in 19 Intercollegiate athletic teams and the NCAA division III level in the little East and hold a National Championship in Men's rugby.

We've got great programs here. The basketball program's doing pretty well. The football program has been resurgent. They've been really well. Last season they were, you know they were unstoppable. Our soccer team here is amazing. Coach Rob Wright does a great job with them and I go to every single match.

Plymouth State students are living the green life. Langdon Woods is the most environmentally conscious and energy efficient residence hall in New Hampshire. The sun lights up the dorm and waste heat from an on campus co-generation plant keeps kids warm in the winter. At Plymouth State you have year round access to incredible outdoor adventures and PSU offers more than 100 student clubs. If you were a student here almost a century ago, a world famous poet might have lectured your class. Robert Frost once taught here at Plymouth State University. So if you're mad about good weather, athletics or expedition, Plymouth State University might just be the beginning of your new adventure. Well thanks for hanging out with us here at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. I'm Ferrari St. Paul with Youniversity TV, bye.
