Hello, everyone. Thanks for catching up with us, I'm Lavone Harvey [phonetic], and we're at Le Moyne College, one of only 28 Jesuit Colleges and Universities in the United States. So let's take a look around campus.
Come on. [ Music ] Le Moyne College is located in the residential suburban location of Syracuse, New York. Only ten minutes from downtime. Le Moyne scenic [assumed spelling], 168 per campus sits on a top hill, giving students a great view of the surrounding communities, and their beauties. We are one of the 28 Catholic Jesuit Schools in the country. Have the unique distinction of being the first that was founded as a coed school. The prior Jesuit schools opened their doors to male students only. [Inaudible] a college in which, if you want to discuss the spiritual aspect of human existence, that's treated as a serious subject of academic study. We look at spirituality as something that is personal and private to each individual, but also that is something which is important as a subject of study in it's own right, and you don't get that at a lot of schools. There are 2300 hundred full time undergraduate students. 60% are female, 40% are male, and 17% are of diverse background. Students to faculty ratio is 13 to 1. Our students are remarkably kind, they're smart, they're ambitious, and they care about the world around them. And it's one of the things that makes me so happy to be at Le Moyne. Everyday I come here, one of the great joys of my job, unlike other jobs that people have, is that I get to work with some of the finest young people in the country, and it makes me very privileged. Students looking to be accepted into Le Moyne need a minimum SAT score of 950 in crucial reading and math, and at least a 20 ACT. Annual tuition for an academic year is about 24,500 dollars, plus additional fees that average 750 dollars. Academic offerings include more then 20 programs, including 31 undergraduate majors in humanities, sciences, nursing, and business. The four most popular majors among students are biology, business administration, psychology and English. In recent year's, Biology's become the hallmark [inaudible] to it's popular demand from students going on to professional programs like dental and medical school. There are roughly 150 fulltime tenure, track faculty members at Le Moyne. The Le Moyne Dolphins field [assumed spelling] a total of 16 NCAA sports, baseball and women's Lacrosse at the division one level, and the rest at division 2. I stepped into the Carrier Dome, and coming out of the locker room, I had a whole section right behind our behind from Le Moyne College. And it was really nice having people there because all I seen was orange at first, but then I seen a little small patch of green right behind our bench, and it was very fulfilling. It's a ton of school spirit at all the sporting events, so Lacrosse games and the basketball games people paint themselves green and gold, and they're called fanatics for the Dolphins. And there's a lot of school spirit. [ Music ] It may seem a bit weird while Le Moyne is a Dolphin, and its location is in Land Locke [assumed spelling] Syracuse, New York. [Inaudible] the Dolphin arrived from the common use of the animal amongst Christians of the second century A.D. The Dolphin symbolizes the desire for knowledge. [ Music ] Oh, come on. Did you know Le Moyne offers a variety of housing options from the suite style residence house to townhouse living? Comfortable. I can get use to this. Well, I live in Foery Hall. It's Suite style, so I live with eight of my girlfriends, and we have a common room, and our own bathroom, it's great. All my friends I met in my building freshman year. Le Moyne has more then 70 clubs and organizations available for students to participate in. From student government, service organizations, musical and dance groups to theatrical opportunities. I'm president of our ski club. I [inaudible] student [inaudible]. I also am the Representative Board of Trustees. I'm in charge of the Rugby team. I've actually played; this will be my fourth year playing. As well as being on the basketball team, I'm part of the student athletic advisory committee. I'm also a member of the power organization on campus, which is a multicultural organization. It's just a really great place. It's easy to get involved and [inaudible] great time. Thirsty for knowledge? Delve into a challenging new world with awesome academics, community and spirit and make a splash at Le Moyne College. [ Music ] The end has come, and it's time to go, but I hope you enjoyed this campus tour as much as I did. For Youiversity TV, I'm Lavone. Catch you next time.
