Hi and welcome to University TV, I'm Ferrari St. Paul with your birds-eye view of Gardner Webb University. What do you say we check out campus?

Gardner Webb is a Christian University located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. This small town is just a short car ride away from big cities like Charlotte, Greenville, Spartanburg, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Gardner Webb's main campus of two hundred acres is primped and prepped every day for students and visitors.

Here in the cafeteria there's no need to miss your favorite show while you're grabbing lunch the upper level is lined with TV's so you can watch whatever. Let's see what we've got going on.

GWU enrolls approximately four thousand students, 64% women, and 36% men; come from thirty states and thirty countries.

The students here are so interested in building relationships it's more than just coming to school and getting an education or having four years of fun it's about building relationships that will last for the rest of your life.

If you want a place where you can go, you can know most everyone; you can leave after four years and feel like you actually left an imprint around the place instead of it just impacting you this is a cool place to be.

We do have conditional acceptance requirements, which are a different program so if the student does not have those requirements they can still be admitted based on interviews and reference letters.

Full time tuition will cost students around $20,000 plus an additional $6,400 for room and board. Students at Gardner Webb can expect to pay roughly $6,000 less than the national average for private institutions.

A total of thirteen departments offer forty-five major fields of study; among the most popular of the schools thirty-nine undergraduate majors are those in business, the social sciences, education, and ASL.

GWU, students come from all over the country to study American Sign Language, it's one of just a few ASL programs nationwide.

In science I've gotten to do medical mission trips and do medical mission projects so I've gotten to incorporate what I've learned in religion as far as you know how to engage the world responsibly but also use the science knowledge that I've gotten to learn about medicine and learn about what it's like to be a doctor.

Dimensions is a unique program that makes Gardner Webb University truly special. Every Tuesday students meet in the Paul Porter arena to hear Christian music and a guest speaker to share the word of Christ.

It's basically like a chapel service but they don't call it chapel because it's not just, you're not always going to have music and then a speaker. Lots of times we have comedians, we have actors, we have athletes, anybody who might have something interesting to say, and you go attend first semester for six semesters while you're here.

Another dimension of learning is nestled in the woods on the GW campus. The Broyhill Adventure Course feature students to work together as they learn the ropes and climb the Alpine Tower.

Gardner Webb has one hundred and thirty-three full time professors, 80% hold a PhD, many have taught at GWU for more than ten years and hail from prestigious places like John's Hopkins, Duke and Columbia University.

Professors here at Gardner Webb are more like friends in a higher place than you; they are so smart but they are on your level.

Nowhere have I ever seen it written that you can't have fun and learn and that's one of my mottos in class, it's one of the things that I tell my kids, you're going to learn and you're going to do what's expected of you, you're going to be respectful and be respected.

One of the things that Gardner Webb does best is their one on one relationship with the students. We have small classes by intention that way we can keep discussions focused, we can work more with students.

Gardner Webb offers twenty-one varsity sports at the NCAA Division I level while the Running Bull Dogs Football team competes in the Football Championship Division. The majority of fulltime students at Gardner Webb live in either traditional residence house or on campus apartments.

I've lived here on campus my whole school career and I have to say it's been one of the best experiences, I wouldn't change that. I've made a lot of friends that I'll probably have the rest of my life living here at Gardner Webb.

There are over fifty student organizations on campus at Gardner Webb University, The Verge, one of the most popular extra-curricular activities on campus, is a contemporary worship service featuring different live musical groups that perform each week. This group gives students the opportunity to pray for other student's personal needs as well as the school itself.

TP, it's what every student needs homecoming weekend, toilet papering campus the night before the big game is a popular Gardner Webb tradition. Imagine this tree and the rest of campus transformed into a sea of white.
