We are finally here. I am so excited to show you and you what it was like to be a student here.

Florida State University is located in the capital city, Tallahassee. This beautiful city is set against rolling hills and offers students the perfect balance between a historic downtown and a college town atmosphere.

The campus at Florida State University is 450 acres of beautiful, Gothic style architecture and southern landscaping, featuring buildings with pointed arches, accented by dignified Spanish moss covered oak trees, whose graceful branches drape walkways and buildings.

Students will come out here on Landis Green and enjoy the beautiful weather. There's sunbathers, laptops, study groups, even professors with their students out on the green. We have our own movie theater, which shows movies six nights a week. It's all free for students. And, there's also a lot of late night activities in the Union; there'll be comedians or bands playing.

Florida State has more than 31,500 undergrads coming from more than 120 countries, all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and all Florida counties. 44 percent of the student body is male, 56 percent female; 25 percent minority and three percent are international. Plus, 70 percent of classes have 30 students or less.

Here at Florida State, there's tons of diversity. There's everything you could imagine. I have friends from India, different parts of Asia. I have friends that are Spanish, all sorts of Spanish. I'm Cuban. I have friends that are Venezuelan and Columbian. It's so much fun to hang out with people from all over the world.

Students looking to attend should present at least an A minus, B plus average in all academic subjects, and should hold test scores of at least 24 on the ACT or 1620 on the SAT. Annual tuition for Florida residents is around $4,000 and for non-Florida residents the tuition costs is about $18,500. Florida State was ranked fifteenth by Kiplinger for best value among the nation's public universities.

I'm on a 100 percent scholarship; like, it's the smartest thing to do. I'm at Florida State because they really provide awesome scholarships for students that want an education.

Florida State University is a Carnegie Doctoral Research Extension institution, offering more than 300 undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs in 16 colleges. A few student favorites are business, psychology, engineering, political science, and biological sciences.

International Programs at Florida State is actually one of the leading programs for studying abroad in the southeast. About one percent of students in the U.S. study abroad, but for the Seminoles, actually 25 percent of our student body. So, that's kind of a testament to how great our program is. I went to one [inaudible] my freshman year; basically the best experience I've ever had in my entire life. I got to meet people from all over the world. I had professors that were actually curators of the British Museum and archaeologists from Ethiopia. It was really just a life changing experience.

Florida State offers an arts education comparable to leading conservatories. Programs in the arts, dance, film, music, and theater rank among the finest in the world.

Florida State employs over 2,300 faculty members; 92 percent hold their doctoral, professional or a terminal degree. Several members have been awarded Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes, Kennedy Honors, Emmys and Oscars, and Guggenheims and Fulbrights.

The Seminoles participate in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 17 intercollegiate sports teams. The men's outdoor track and field team has won their national championship three years in a row for a [inaudible] and the Seminole football team boasts two national championships and with 68 straight home game wins, ESPN named them the team of the 90s.

No wonder Coach Bobby Bowden is the most winningest coach in college football history. Look at all these trophies! This would look so nice on my mantle.

[ Music ] It's a spectacular site to see Chief Osceola and Renegade at FSU home games. They charged down the field and Chief Osceola hurled a flaming spear towards mid-field. It really gets the crowd going.

[ Cheering ] University housing offers 14 residence halls for first year students. Many students choose to be a part of the popular living/learning communities. These are some of the best residence halls in Florida, according to Florida Leader magazine.

Pi Beta Phi was once my home away from home. Let's see if we can find my pledge picture in there somewhere.

[ Music ] Right there. At Florida State, you will find 450 campus organizations, intramural and club sports, fraternities and sororities and the world renowned Marching Chiefs.

There's so much to do. There's so much academically. There's fraternities and there's sororities, there are different clubs.

Florida State houses one of the country's only collegiate circuses, the Flying High Circus. Audiences sit in suspense as students show off some awe-striking routines, both in the air and on the ground. The Sod Cemetery commemorates FSU's away victory games, when they're the rare underdog. They take sod from the field and bury it here, with a tombstone inscribed with the year, the school, and the score of the game. Rest in peace, fallen opponents.
