Ferrari and I are here to see what interesting things we can get into today. Who knows maybe we will even take a ride to the moon. Let's go. [ Music ] Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is located in the resort location of Daytona Beach, Florida. Campus is located just minutes from the world's most famous beach, one hour from Orlando's attractions and the Kennedy Space Center. There's a lot to do here though, between being right on the airport and everything that we have with aviation at Embry Riddle. You've got the Daytona 500, and you've got Fight Week that comes twice a year. We've got a lot of art festivals, and music festivals. The weather here is humid, it's hot, it's like perfect beach weather. You know we're ten minutes away from the beach. It's, it's nice. Embry Riddle is 185 acres of campus with the state of the art Greek, labs, and simulators in a tropical setting. There are about 4,600 undergrads at ERAU from all over the us and 85 countries. 9% of the student body is international and the average class size is 23. The professors are very helpful after class, there is always [inaudible] office ours. There, lots of space after class, and they explain stuff and they very helpful if you have any questions. They're always there for you all the time. On average, Embry Riddle students hold a GPA between 3.2 and 3.7 and ACT of 24 and 28, and an SAT score ranging from 1160 to 1300. We'll look at every student individually and then while standardized test scores, and GPA, those are very important. The cost of tuition and fees at Embry Riddle is around $28,000 a year, not calculating some flight costs some students might incur. Room and board runs about $8,500, plus an estimated cost of $1,000 for books. ERAU offers 30 different majors, mostly from a focus on aviation or aerospace. Plus you can create your own major by choosing 3 minors if you take advantage of aerospace studies. Some student's favorites are aeronautical science, aerospace engineering, air traffic management, business, engineering physics, and applied meteorology. The way they do it at Embry Riddle is they kind of tailor the degrees for you, there commercial pilot, professional airline pilot, or military pilot sense we have large groupings of each. And it's something that just kind of allows you to be more specific in what you want to do throughout your career. Attend the Harvard of the sky. More graduates from this program are hired to fly for major airlines than from any other program around. Plus flight teams consistently top the ranks country wide with annual flight competitions. Sweet let's take this one for a ride. [Inaudible]. [ Music ] The Embry Riddle Eagles are members of the NAIA and compete in the Florida Sun Conference. [ Music ] We go out to soccer games, and we cheer our teams and watch them play, and we watch them win of course. And school spirit is definitely big here, and we just started up our dance squad so we are going to add even more spirit to our great spirit that we have all ready. Incoming students at ERAU will most likely live in the student village made up of Adams, O'Conner Simpson, and Wood halls. I lived on campus for my freshman year. I was in McKay dorms, and had a good experience doing that actually. Some of my better friends have come from there, and still I keep in touch with a lot of those guys. [ Sound effect ] [ Music ] Embry Riddle Alumni go far, 6 are astronauts, many of them are employed by NASA, Boeing, Blackheed[assumed spelling] Martin, and United States Alliance. [ Sound effect ] With over 100 clubs and organizations on campus, there's never a dull moment. Thanks to Touch and Go Productions, we have inflatable day. Their part of SDA and they organize all of the entertainment on campus, and it's always free. I'm going to knock you out. Not before I knock you out. [ Fighting ] Throughout my four years, I've been involved with the women's baha[assumed spelling] team, and the four male hybrid team. We designed [inaudible] vehicles, and we had these resources here at our school which allowed us to create you know the vehicle, make it come to life. It's kind of nice. At Embry Riddle there's a strong military presence. With four branches of service that are well represented. That's right in the Air Force ROTC detachment is one of the largest in the nation. With the most commissioned officers and pilots with the exception of the Air Force Academy. Are you kidding? What are you doing? You're standing in my formation, and you're jacking it up. You're making us all look bad. You've got a chip in your toe nail polish. Do you see any chips on my boots? No Sir. [Inaudible]. You have to say that if you have to find a place where you're going to make your first step away. Riddle's got good advising, it's a safe community, it's a super safe campus. Ready to be pushed beyond your limits to explore the final frontier? Then take off for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Just 5 minutes away and you can put your toes in the sand. So, we're going to leave you here, but you've got to check out Embry Riddle for yourself. We're going to get our bathing suits. You know we do. [ Music ] |
