Hey what's up University TV watchers I'm Nicole Erin.

And I'm Ferrari St. Paul here at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.

What's happening here?

Looks like some mischievous students have put soap in the fountain.

Well let's find out who did it.

We'll make it our mission, let's go.

East Central University is located in Ada, Oklahoma approximately ninety miles from Oklahoma City, one hundred and fifteen miles from Tulsa and one hundred and fifty miles from Dallas.

The people are very warm everybody talks to you and they're very friendly.

And the students are all really friendly, that's really what I've loved here is we all just kind of get together and support each other.

ECU has thirty-six buildings on a hundred and thirty-five park-like acres with an abundance of trees, fountains, and flowers.

Ada's main street drives you straight up to Science Hall, ECU?s first campus that is framed up a Memorial Gateway and it commemorates the students lost in World War I.

ECU enrolls about forty-five hundred undergrad students from fifteen States and thirty countries. The male to female ratio is seven to ten and 33% of the students are of diverse backgrounds.

Approximately one out of every five ECU students is a Native American; ECU is ranked second in the nation for the highest number of Native American undergrads in the categories of health professions and other related clinical services.

Students looking to enroll at East Central must score at least a twenty on the ACT, nine-forty on the SAT or rank in the top 50% of their graduating class with a 2.7 GPA.

Penn State students can expect to pay about $2,500 in tuition and fees with those coming from out of state paying closer to $5,500. Room and board is about an additional $2,000 plus the cost of books.

Hey you.

Yeah.

I have a question for you.

What's that?

Were you the one who put the bubbles in the fountain this morning?

I don't even know bubbles?

Was it you?

No.

Who did it?

ECU offers eighty-eight majors including eleven free professionals and fifteen graduate degree programs. A few student favorites are nursing, biology, education, pre-professional programs, human resources, and business administration.

If the students are interested in nursing I think that they come for one because we do have a good reputation, we have a good program, we've worked on it for a long time. We really do try to present a real diversified education; we take the students to the Chickasaw Nation Health facility, the Indian hospital here in town, they go to health departments, they'll visit and see nurse practitioners, they'll see nurses in advanced roles.

I really do think that East Central University will prepare me for my career path because the hands-on experience you get here I mean it's awesome; the teachers are always there to assist you.

East Central University is the only institution in Oklahoma and one of the only twenty-one in the nation to offer an accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health Science.

ECU?s department of cartography and geography provides the only cartography degree available in the State of Oklahoma and it's one of only seven available in the United States.

East Central employs one hundred and sixty-one full time and ninety-two part time faculty members, with 68% holding a PhD.

The faculty at ECU are great, I love them.

All the faculty in my department and any of the fine arts are excellent faculty, extremely well trained and very easy to work with and students really love them.

The East Central Tigers compete at the NCAA Division II Level and have won an NAIA National Football championship, go Tigers.

All freshmen must live on campus with the multiple choices in housing options including living and learning communities for honors and athletics plus four traditional residences and co-ed upper classman apartment style house.

You know Ferrari I heard that Nights Hall is haunted.

Yeah right I don't believe in that stuff.

Don't believe me but it's true I mean the girls have told me that they've heard strange noises and that cold wet hands have touched their back.

Don't touch me.

I didn't touch you.

Nicole? I didn't do that I swear to God.

It's not even funny.

I'm trying to find out who put soap in this fountain over here, this is a serious matter.

Serious matter huh?

Um huh.

That was him.

Really?

I saw him do it.

No I didn't.

Really?

No I'm just kidding it wasn't us.

It wasn't you so you have no idea?

No idea.

Did I put soap in the fountain? No comment.

There are more than eighty student organizations on ECU?s campus ranging from academic, honors and Greek to religious and special interests.

Where can students go to find out about more clubs?

In this building in the University Center over to our right there's an office called the Campus Life and Leadership office and it holds every single organization on campus, all their information and who you can contact to get involved with.

Rory stop searching for two seconds and check this out, guess how old this petrified tree is?

A million years.

Nope two hundred and fifty million years old.

Oh I read about this tree it grew on a farm near ECU and it was supposed to go to the Smithsonian?

Yup and instead it got to ECU?s campus. All right let's search.

The search continues.

Map out your future and navigate not north, south or west but to East Central University.

Well we never found out who put soap in the fountain but if you come to the campus and check it out yourself maybe you'll be able to find out our unsolved mystery.

We'll see you next time.
