Howdy from Aggie land. I'm Ferrari St Paul and this is YOUniversity TV where we put you in university. Today, we're here at Texas A&M University. Come join us on our campus tour.

Texas A&M is located in College Station Texas which has a population of just under 200,000. College Station is within comfortable driving distance of Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio and offers all the features of a large city while maintaining a small town atmosphere.

College Station is a great little city and it's growing instantly.

There's a mall [inaudible] and there's also museums...

Line dancing and two stepping and if you want to eat some barbeque, there's tons of that but if you want here you know get old Chinese stew we have that as well.

Texas A&M gives a new meaning to the phrase everything is bigger in Texas. You are looking at one of the largest campuses in the country, expands more than 5000 acres.

With about 48,000 students enrolled and 38,000 of them undergraduates, Texas A&M has one of the largest student bodies in the country.

So the biggest thing about Texas A&M is that it's just one big family. Probably the most memorable moment that I have in A&M was my first Aggie muster. Every April 21st all the Aggies get together and they honor all the [inaudible] Aggies in the past year and I was kind of the defining moment of my A&M career where I realized I'm part of something much larger than myself, but I'm so part of this close knit family.

In case you're wondering incoming freshman at Texas A&M University have an average SAT of 1210 and graduate in the top 25% of their high school class.

We have two categories for admission that are automatic and that's generally both on where they make in the class and also the test scores and the coursework that they've taken. Their involvement in high school. We are also looking at their essays that they write.

Tuition and fees for Texas residents including room and board, books and other expenses runs about $21,000 per year. For out of staters that number rises to about $36,000 per year.

Got a presidential perspective at Texas A&M University. It's home to the George Bush presidential library and museum. George Senior has even been spotted working out along side students in the rec center.

Even though Texas A&M is a large school, its classes aren't, with an average class size of just 36 Aggie students can get the most out of their college education. Texas A&M University offers more than a 150 courses of study over 9 colleges and some of the most popular majors include business, engineering, and psychology.

Our business school is top 10th ranked right now in the nation. Our MBA program is also top 10 ranked in the nation. We also have the college of architecture and the college of engineer which is also very strong colleges here.

We can offer them a research one experience that is believe is second to none. Half a billion dollars and federally funded grants each year and working shoulder to shoulder with the faculty administering those grants, solving problems for the country today.

More than 80% of the 2500 faculty members hold doctorial degrees and include winners of the Nobel prize, national medal of science, Pulitzer Prize, and world food prize.

I think our faculty are among the best in the country. The professors here at A&M go out of their way to make you feel like you're important to them.

And our students feel really at ease when they see me on facebook and they send me a message, hi Dr. Garcia and you know I was having a question.

20 Aggie men's and women's varsity sports teams compete at the division 1 level in the big 12 conference. Meet the 12th man. This basketball player left the stands and shooted up to take the football field when the Aggies were down. Ever since Texas A&M students stay in that game to show their support. Coach, I'm ready. Come in. Coach come in, come in really I'm ready. Coach? Want to live close to class? No problem, since there are 30 residence halls and apartments available on campus, which house more than 10000 residents.

I lived in the dorm for three years and it is, it's very fun and once I moved off campus it just, it felt like I was moving away, in away you know graduating already, but it's, it's just really memorable to stay on campus and everything's near.

With more than 800 student organizations available on campus including over 30 club sports and 56 Greek organizations there's never a dull moment for A&M students.

All the organizations you know together have built me into a leader and I've grown so much. The Aggie ring we earned it after 95 hours and it just means the hard work and the hours you put into A&M. The ring itself has your graduation date and then you turn it around once you graduate and once its turned around that means you know you're ready to face the world.

I bet you didn't know that Texas A&M University ranks in the top 25 of public universities according to US News and World Report and in the top 5 of their best value ranking. Texas A&M is also in the top 10 of US universities in enrollment of national merit scholars. If you're looking for a stellar education at a university deep in the heart of Texas that has a big heart for its students, be sure to check out Texas A&M today.

Thanks for joining us here in College Station on our tour of Texas A&M University. I'm Ferrari St Paul. I will see y'all later.
