at Trinity University,

home of the Tigers.

I bet you didn't know that
Trinity has been ranked

the number one school
in the west by

US News and World Report
for 16 consecutive years.

Trinity University is located
in the scenic city

of San Antonio, Texas,
which is the nation's

seventh largest city.

San Antonio has a laid back vibe
and features everything you'd

expect from a modern
metropolitan area.

Remember the Alamo?

It's just minutes away
from Trinity University.

San Antonio's River Walk
stretches for miles.

There are museums, theaters,
shops, restaurants, and more.

Trinity features a lush 117 acre
hilltop residential campus

just minutes from
downtown San Antonio.

And close to the beautiful
Texas Hill Country.

This attractive tree-filled
campus offers totally modern

architecture along with
lots of green spaces

for students to relax
and have fun.

2,500 undergraduates
and 200 graduate students

call Trinity University home.

Men make up 46%
of the population,

and women make up 54%.

Admission to Trinity University
is highly selective.

In fact, 75% of incoming
freshmen graduate

in the top fifth
of their high school class,

with an average
high school GPA of 3.5.

The middle 50% of students have
an ACT score between 26 and 31.

And an SAT score between
600 and 690 in critical reading

and between 610
and 690 in math.

You know, it seems like
each year the bar kind of

raises a little bit in terms
of admissions standards.

Fortunately for us,
really it's a very much

a holistic approach to
evaluating a student

for admissions,
and so I kind of feel like

there's a lot of pieces
to the pie.

Most of, I guess, the bulk of
our, our criteria would fall

on the academic records, so,
really taking a close look

at a student's transcript
and what types of courses

they've taken,
and grade trends.

Tuition is the same for all
students, at around $24,800

per year.

Room and board plus fees add
an additional $9,300 per year.

Trinity University offers 37
majors and 50 minors

with an average
class size of 21.

In our department in particular,
I mean, we don't,

we don't have huge classes.

A lot of my upper level language
classes are six to ten students.

So, I mean, we really get to
know each other very well,

and, and, and some of these
students I teach as many as

eight or nine times
over the course of their

career here.

Some of the most popular majors
include Business Administration,

Modern Languages
and Literatures,

Communication, English,
Political Science,

and Economics.

In addition, Trinity's Chemistry
and Engineering programs

are nationally ranked.

If they want to do research
the day after they set foot

on campus,
then we're interested

in having them do that,
because doing research is

a little bit like
playing soccer.

If you were gonna
learn to play soccer,

then you wouldn't study it
and study it and study it

and finally after you've done
that for three years you'd

play a game.

You'd start out
by playing a game.

So we think that if students
start out by playing the game

of research,
the game of chemistry,

then, um, they have a better,
a better sense of whether

it's the game for them.

A whopping 97% of Trinity's 240
full-time professors have a PhD

or their terminal degree.

With a student to faculty ratio
of better than 10:1,

Trinity students know they're
getting personalized attention

from their highly
qualified instructors,

along with a great education.

The thing that I love about
the professors here

is that you don't see them
just in the classroom.

You're gonna see them
around campus as well.

And, you know, like, having them
coming to our fraternity

meetings to talk about how
they got to where they are,

or just going to one of their
offices and sitting and being

like, "Dr. Davis, how do I write
my cover letter?"

Opportunities are knocking
outside the classroom,

as Trinity offers 130 political,
social, professional, service,

and recreational organizations
for students to get

involved with and enrich
their college experience.

On your birthday,
you get thrown

into the fountain at Trinity,
so that's a lot of fun.

We have a traditional
chocolate night,

where everyone comes out
on the esplanade out here

and they have different, like,
chocolates and brownies

and cakes and stuff.

And then we have Salsa Night,
hosted by Latino Exchange,

we're having an international
carnival coming up,

um, Black Student Union
is doing Mocha Life,

which celebrates
Black History Month,

so there's lots of type
of diversity initiatives

that are going on on campus.

Eighteen Tiger varsity
athletic teams compete

at the division III level
in the southern collegiate

athletic conference.

Trinity has won over 100
conference titles in just

the last decade.

The basketball
and volleyball teams

take the court right here
in the Bell Center.

Now, this is sweet.

Walk-in closets,
a housekeeping service,

and even a balcony?

CosmoGirl Magazine says
Trinity's suite-style dorms are

some of the nicest
in the country.

All students are required to
live on campus their first

three years.

And 25% of students choose to
stay on campus during their

senior year, too.

Here's an interesting fact:
more than half of all

Trinity University Students
study abroad nearly anywhere

in the world.
