Well, mama, that is some good pizza. I'm Ferrari St. Paul, just enjoying a little slice of life in Oneonta, New York. Mama Nina's Pizza is just one thing that brings students up to SUNY Oneonta. Let's check our campus and see what else they come for. SUNY College at Oneonta is located in Oneonta, New York, about halfway between Binghamton and Albany in a small friendly neighborhood near the western foothills of the Catskill Mountains.

We have a college camp that is actually affiliated with the campus and it is just about 2 miles away which provides a lot of outdoor opportunities and resources for our students to participate in. There we have snowshoeing.

 Cross country skiing, downhill skiing.

And then locally, we have a lot of horseback riding in the area.

We also have the Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown, Fenimore Art Museum, so there's a lot of culture.

Every spring, there's a huge festival downtown called OH-Fest and we actually close down Main Street and there's a huge street fair all day and then at night, there is a concert, a free concert in one of the parks downtown.

Campus is located on 250 acres overlooking the Susquehanna River Valley in Central New York. Oneonta has a total of 5,600 undergraduate students, 42 percent are male, 58 percent are female. Close to 10 percent are minorities and 2 percent are international students. The student to faculty ratio is 17 to 1. Oneonta is highly selective. Since students who are gonna be accepted need a minimum GPA of a solid B plus and 1050 combined SAT score.

We are looking for students who are involved students in lots of different ways as far as community service, which means a lot to us here at the college and to our current students.

Oneonta residents will pay approximately 1,500 dollars a year in tuition, fees, and room and board while those coming from out of state will pay close to 2,100 dollars. Well baby, I like the sound of this major. Let's check it out.

[ Background Music ]

As a food service and restaurant administration major, you will spend a lot of time in this fabulous kitchen. Let's see. I'll need one of this. Some food would be nice. I just mastered an egg and cheese sandwich which I'm so good at and this will be a perfect place to teach the world how to do it on my own cooking show. Look at all these burners. It's awesome. I'll bring our pot with us. That says no, so this is yes. Ah, the dining room. This must be where students are able to serve their meals to other students, community members, and faculty. Oneonta offers 69 undergraduate majors, 4 pre-professional and 16 cooperative programs with other institutions and 56 undergraduate minors including several interdisciplinary or career-oriented programs. Just a few student favorites are education, communications, human ecology, economics and business, psychology, music, and science. Now let's see where education students put their skills to the test. Welcome to the Bugbee School, Oneonta's on campus daycare. Let's meet some kids.

Hi! What's that? Did you just make this?

Oneonta employs 263 fulltime faculty members and 222 part-time, 80 percent of the faculty have their terminal degree and more than 90 are recipients of SUNY's distinguished Professorship's and Chancellor's Award for Excellence.

My faculty, they're very convenient and they're very friendly. They're very personable, I like--they're easy to get a hold of whether through email or you can call them during the office hours. I'm always on the first-name basis with that.

All the faculty are experts in their field and they're all doing, you know, research and extra things but it's not instead of class.

How cool is this? SUNY Oneonta's new president is throwing this summer ice cream social for the faculty. Professors are into parties too. I'm gonna see if I can steal some.

[ Whispering ]

 Welcome.

 Hi, how are you?

 Thank you so much.

 You're welcome.

The SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons have 21 athletic teams that participate and compete with the NCAA division 3 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Is this where you guys play on the team?

 Yeah, yeah, it is.

 The Red Dragons?

Yeah, that's where we play heartily. It's really, I guess really crazy here ringing cowbells and stuff. It's a good rival game. Us and Cortland too is a good game too. Get a lot of people to come, the Alumni come into that game.

SUNY Oneonta offers 15 residence house including 5 double and 5 quad style house plus 4 suites and 1 apartment style building. Oneonta offers special interest housing like quiet section, wilderness living, first-year experience and making a difference for students interested in community service. Alright people, it's time to get involved. Be a part of fall or spring intramurals or club sports, or go Greek. The Phi Kappa Psi House is a great place to start. And in between all your on campus activities, you can come and hang out by this on campus pond that's in the shape of the State of New York with the fountain right where Oneonta would be.

Stars in your eyes, [inaudible] fired up, and join the Red Dragons at SUNY College at Oneonta. Well it's time to wrap up our day here at SUNY Oneonta's Daycare Center. My friends, the future Red Dragons are gonna help me say goodbye. You guys ready? Alright let's say goodbye [inaudible].

 [Simultaneously] Bye.

Thanks for coming. [Laughter] That was good.
