 Oh and Hits.

Yep they've all been filmed right here in these festival law library. Let's check out the rest of the campus.

 Alright

Columbia University is located on Manhattan's upper west side in Morning Side Heights just north and west of Central Park on Broadway.

So what I love, absolutely love about Columbia that yeah you have this traditional collegiate environment but you have that really vibrant campus and city life out there too. Which is something that really appealed to me; I wanted to go to a place where at three o'clock in the morning I could go out a grab a slice of pizza.

The majestic and park like thirty six acre Columbia campus was designed at the turn of the century as a self contained urban village with everything from residence halls to classrooms, labs, art studios and athletic facilities.

Columbia is home to approximately five thousand five hundred undergraduate students hailing from over ninety countries and all fifty states. Fifty-three percent are men, forty percent woman, and almost half of undergraduates self identify as students of color.

What do I have to do to get into this campus?

I think when most students think about Columbia they think Ivy League but what they don't understand is that we're really in a league of our own. So what we would look for in an applicant is someone who works really hard, who loves school, who loves to explore ideas and who's not afraid to be challenged by and to challenge their peers and their faculty.

All right, while you have been walking around I've been doing my research.

 Okay

To get an Ivy League education at Columbia it costs about fifty thousand dollars a year.

Okay but obviously besides tuition, what about books, other expenses, and room and board?

 All is included

 Okay

We have recently initiated a new financial aid program and for families that have incomes of sixty thousand dollars or less, there is no parental contribution expected and we have substantially reduced parental contributions for families between sixty thousand and one hundred thousand dollars.

Between Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, Columbia University offers over ninety majors.

Most popular programs are Economics, Engineering, Political Science, English, History, and Biology.

Hey guys where is 309 Hoffmeyer [assumed spelling] Hall which is the most [inaudible] classroom in the country. There is

Shh, I'm trying to listen to the lecture.

 I'm listening

So, Columbia is unique in the Engineering School for several reasons. We want our students to be technologically adept and socially engaged and to be able to do that; they need to be able to not only have the technical courses but they need to have a strong background in the liberal arts. So Columbia offers one of the strongest liberal arts so Columbia offer core curriculum in the country, so that forms the foundation of their education and then what we do is we supplement our technical majors with offerings of liberal arts minors.

At Columbia you can study in over forty languages, find nearly a dozen programs in the arts, and prepare for professional and graduate schools.

The core curriculum is the signature and the hallmark of the Columbia College education and we have small classes, art humanities, music humanities, the two original courses, contemporary civilization, and literature humanities. We have foreign language requirement and frontiers of science.

The majority of the majority of the fourteen ten fulltime and four hundred part-time faculty members have a PhD or terminal degree in their field. Seventy-six Nobel laureates have attended or taught at Columbia University. The faculty all teach under graduates even the president of the university.

The faculty here is exceptionally open to working with undergraduates, they're exceptionally open to collaborative research, they're exceptionally open to sponsoring students, and they take a lot of time and devote a lot of energy in mentoring those students.

 What's up Nicole?

Oh hey put these on, I want you to experience the spot where the [inaudible] foot for the first time in the United States.

Wasn't the laser invented here too?

Wow being at Columbia is making you smarter.

The Columbia Lions competes in thirty-one sports at the NCAA division one level. With the football, team competing at the one double A level, in the last few years the Lions have won nine Ivy League championship titles.

Over ninety-five percent of the undergraduates live on the Columbia campus.

Columbians are passionate and active with close to five hundred clubs and organizations including music and theater groups and wide range of multicultural, political and community service organizations.

We bring in leadership from every part of the globe to give lectures and talks; including McCain, Obama, and Ahmadinejad.

Matt and I are involved in the same Acapella daily administrative and clerical support tasks for you ranging from keeping your databases and calendar/scheduling software to handling correspondence and mailings for you. Acapella on campuses and keys; it's an acapella group and we sing on campus with mix master concerts and we'll also go into the city and have gigs at random areas, venues and so forth and it's a lot of fun.

One of my favorite traditions that we have is the tree lighting ceremony. There is hot cider, hot chocolate, cookies; everyone gathers on college walks and then the dean will flick the switch and all the lights come up on the trees and it's such an amazing experience.

Wow what a busy day and what an amazing campus.

I know if I could turn back the hand of time, I would have definitely applied here.

So, what do we do now?

 Well head towards Manhattan?

 Absolutely

Yeah Columbians do make an impact don't they? The astronaut yes; I could go on forever, but we've got to go.
