Hey what's up, I'm Nicole Erin, and this is Youniversity TV, where we put you in University. So today, we're at Gonzaga University home of the bulldogs. It's a private university in beautiful Pacific Northwest. 

 Gonzaga is located on the Spokane River adjacent to downtown Spokane, Washington. 

 I love going to school in Spokane, the more I live here the more I fall in love with it. 

 This city offers amazing views plus all the amenities of a bigger city. In fact, you'll find everything in the area from water sports to skiing and even an amusement park in nearby Idaho. 

 Shopping and fine dining is just a short walk away; in just ten minutes, students can follow the centennial trail from campus to downtown Spokane. 

 Gonzaga University features one hundred and twenty scenic acres. 

 We're really excited we are building a new student center, we're also just trying to expand a little bit as far as more residence halls, but we won't grow too much more. 

 Gonzaga enrolls over sixty three hundred students and about forty one hundred of them are undergraduates. 

 I would say the community is probably the biggest thing that we have going for us here but it's just this affect of togetherness that we have that a lot of schools don't 

 We don't have Frats, we don't have sororities, and we don't want to break up our community in the smaller communities that want this to be one big family. 

 Gonzaga attracts some of the brightest students in the area and the average GPA for incoming freshman is three point seven. 

 Average SAT?s is around eleven ninety and ACT is twenty-six. 

 The extracurricular are your clubs, your sports, and your leadership community service, that's a huge part of it. Your essay is really important too; we're definitely looking at the whole applicant. 

 Tuition for all students runs about twenty six thousand dollars per year and room and board is an additional seven thousand dollars. Financial aid is available for some students and average about twenty thousand dollars. 

 The only way we know this is a Catholic University is a Jesuit University is if you walk down and saw some of the crosses on all of the buildings and you saw some Jesuits walking around. But other than that, I mean it's just; if you want it it's there, if it's not your thing it's not forced on you. 

 Gonzaga University offers seventy-five different majors and five different schools, which include Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Professional Studies. 

 This is a great place to go to Law School in part because of the rich legal tradition our professors but also because of the mock trial team. We want to prepare students for the real world and for futures in and beyond academia. So there's a great deal of passion, there's a great deal of dedication. There's also a great deal of creativity going on in our classrooms. 

 Gonzaga School of Business features one of the nation's top accounting programs and the university is also known for its Engineering and Communication Arts programs. Gonzaga University has more than three hundred fulltime faculty members and along with a very low student to faculty ratio of just twelve to one, students are able to get to know their teachers on a personal level. 

 I had an accounting professor who was the CFO of the city of Spokane. We have just unbelievable faculty that will go out of their way to help you. 

 They really enjoy getting to know the students and you have small classes so you can actually get to know your professors one on one. One thing I've really gotten to know a lot of faculty in student life and see them at activities and they really do care about their students. 

 Fourteen men's and women's bulldog athletic teams compete at the NCAA division one level in the West Coast Conference. 

 Go Gonzaga, G-O-N-Z-A-G-A; students call this the kennel it's where the bulldogs basketball teams slam-dunks their way to success. Gonzaga frequently competes in the NCAA division one finals. Students have been known to camp outside in order to score courtside seats. 

 Basketball is something that is absolutely amazing on this campus. We've had a top twenty-five program for the last nine years and it's an absolute blast to be a part of. It really brings students together, the school spirit if you're looking for school spirit this is the place. I'm obviously wearing a Gonzaga jersey right now and I'm always wearing Gonzaga gear. 

 Gonzaga has twenty unique residence communities that house about twenty one hundred students. Just so you know freshman and sophomore are required to live on campus. 

 Living in the dorms is great I love the corridor style where everyone shares a bathroom but you've got your own room. RA?s are great here at Gonzaga they really work to build the community and foster relationships within your hall, and we do a lot of fun events with your dorm and it's such a social environment. 

 If you're looking for things to do on campus Gonzaga has over eighty recognized clubs for students to get involved in. 

 This is probably the only time you won't get in trouble for your graffiti. Every Monday student organizations spend five dollars to advertise here for a week. There's so much paint on this wall, it's added an extra inch. 

 At the end of every year my roommate from the past two years and two of my best friends all strip down and hop into that lake over there in our swimming suits, it's freezing because the lake is just starting to melt after the winters and then again during finals week we take a study break and hop into the lake. 

 I bet you didn't know that Gonzaga students are passionate about social justice and serving the community. They contribute over one hundred and twenty five thousand hours of service locally and throughout the globe in the last year alone. 

 Community service on this campus is awesome, you can do anything. 

 In one semester we raised forty two thousand dollars for Libby Teen Center. 

 Mentoring elementary school students who are kind of from volatile homes; pretty much anything that you can think of and it's an absolute blast.
