Hey, what's up? I'm Ferrari Saint Paul, and this is Youniversity TV. Where we put you in university. Today were here at Balkner University, home of the eagles. It's a private liberal arts university, featuring strong academic and a Christian community setting. Balkner University is located in Montgomery, Alabama. Which is the state capital and features lots of culture and entertainment, in addition to a rich historical background. Since it's considered the birthplace of the civil war and the civil rights movement. Civil rights history is just a short drive from Falkner's main campus. Here in downtown Montgomery Martin Luther King Jr's dream lives on. This is the church where Dr. King preached his message of equality in the mid 1900's. Falkner has 3 campuses around Alabama in addition to its beautiful main Montgomery campus, which features 90 acres of green grass, and trees in the spring and summer, and beautiful red, Orange, and yellow leaves in the fall.
There are a lot of fun things to do, you go downtown, you go to the capita [inaudible] Shakespeare festival place. There's a big park so you can like sit down and study at the park. Or you can go watch a play at the Shakespeare festival place, go to the art museum.
Falkner enrolls nearly 3,000 students, with a male to female ratio of about 40% men to 60% percent women. Students seeking admission at Falkner need a minimum ACT score of 18, Or a minimum SAT score of 1290.
Well as far as admissions go. The main thing you need to do is fill out an application for admission. That can be done online at Falkner.edu or they can do a paper application and we'll start getting a hold of their transcripts and letters of recommendation.
Alabama residents and out of state students can expect to pay the same rat for tuition, which runs about just over $18,000 per year and including room and board. And 95% of students receive financial aid packages. Falkner offers over 50 fields of study with over 65, including bachelors, Masters, jurist doctors, and associates degrees, as well as certificates of study. The Harris Parker bible building is testament to Falkner Christian foundation. Bible is one of the universities top majors, from community service projects, to mission trips Falkner students are making a difference all over the world. Some of the most popular majors on campus include business, law education, liberal arts, sports management, and science.
The mock courtroom is set up just like a real courtroom. We have of course where the judge would be, and where the jury would sit, and we have the tables for the plaintiff and the defendant, or the State and the defense. So the students actually get to come in and go through a process.
If you are looking to get some great hands on experience in hands in high-level offices while at school. Falkner students have interned at such places as; the Alabama Bureau of Investigations, the State Supreme Court, and the Governor's Office. We are located in the capital city, so we have a lot of legal work that goes on in the capital city. We have lots of large law firms and small law firms, lots of government activity, lot of politics that go on in the state. So we have a lot of opportunities for our students, they are very fortunate to be able to intern with a lot of great agencies.
Falkner has a student to faculty ratio of 18:1, and students have great access to their professors both before and after class.

I never had a teacher, if you didn't ask for help wasn't just very willing to help you.
Seven men's and women's Eagle athletic teams compete at the NIAI division 1 level in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
You know how much our athletic program grown and continues to grow. We've got national championships in basketball, and in baseball.
All unmarried full time students under 21, are required to live on campus. Seniors and those above 21 can choose to live off campus. Want to get involved on campus?
