You've applied to all your colleges, you've gotten your acceptance letters, and you've chosen your school. Now what? There are many things that students should do after high school before they enter into college. By prioritizing your tasks you can make an easy transition from your high school days to your new college experience.

One of the first things that you will want to do is schedule your college orientation. This will take place before the start of the school year, usually between the months of June and August. Many colleges and universities offer several orientation times for you to choose from. Getting into a session earlier is always better because many times you will be given the opportunity to enroll into your first college classes during this time.

If you are living on campus like many freshmen, you will be sent a room assignment by your college before the start of the fall semester. Many times, it will include the names and contact information for who you will be rooming with. It is always a good idea to reach out to your future roommates so you can establish a relationship before move in day.

Before you move into your college dorm room, and before you start any classes, you are going to need your fair share of room décor. Most dorm rooms and college apartments give you a bed, dresser, and desk, but any other items will fall on you to purchase. You will want to check out what size bed comes in your living facility so you can get sheets and other bedding. Towels and shower essentials are also necessary, and any comforts such as a television or DVD player will need to be bought by you and your roommates.
You want to make sure that you are aware of any and all important dates that involve enrolling in classes, dropping or changing classes, and tuition due dates. This will eliminate unnecessary headaches down the road if you keep up-to-date on these things. Making sure you are able to enroll into each class that you are interested in is important, and there will be a cutoff point that you will want to be aware of. You will also want to make sure that your tuition is paid on time and in full, so you won't be blocked for registering or taking courses.

It is also important that you know what days you are able to move into your on-campus dorm or apartment. Most colleges have set dates in which students are required to move in. By knowing what date you are planning on moving into your knew living place, you can be better prepared to make sure you have everything you need beforehand.
Once you have moved in and you have received your schedule of classes, it is a good idea to map out your schedule. This will allow you the comfort of knowing where your classes are and where you will need to go in order to get to them. This also helps you figure out your commute times, whether they are on foot, by car, or by other on-campus transport. By seeing how your class schedule flows, you will be more readily prepared once your courses begin.

Before you start college or go back to college, it is important for you to be ready. By better preparing yourself, you can be sure to have a great start in the next chapter of your educational career. Even if you choose to go to an online school, it still requires a lot of preparation.
