A Sober Warning

Look you, sirs, there are ages to come. If the lord does not speedily appear, there will come another generation, and another, and all these generations will be tainted and injured if we are not faithful to God and to his truth today. We have come to a turning-point in the road. If we turn to the right, mayhap our children and our children’s children will go that way; but if we turn to the left, generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to his Word. I charge you, not only by your ancestry, but by your posterity, that you seek to win the commendation of your Master, that though you dwell where Satan’s seat is, you yet hold fast his name, and do not deny his faith. God grant us faithfulness, for the sake of the souls around us! How is the world to be saved if the church is false to her Lord? How are we to lift the masses if our fulcrum is removed? If our gospel is uncertain, what remains but increasing misery and despair? Stand fast, my beloved, in the name of God! I, your brother in Christ, entreat You to abide in the truth. Quit yourselves like men, be strong. The Lord sustain you for Jesus’ sake. Amen.”
-Charles Spurgeon-

Just Getting Started

As the spring semester approached, few things initially appeared to change in the Golden Knight Battalion. Some cadets were issued to new squads, and now MSII (sophomore) cadets are being assigned leadership roles as squad leaders; versus last semester where only the MSIII (junior) cadets were assigned the responsibility.
What was once called PT, I am being told, is now technically PRT. But the most noticeable change during the first week of the semester was not the name change between “PT” and “PRT”; moreover, it was the intensity of the exercises performed during this hour of physical fitness from 05:55-07:15.
The first week of PRT for the Golden Knight Battalion started strong, and has only been increasing in intensity since. At the end of last week, I left Friday’s PRT with legs exhausted to the point that it hurt every step I took the rest of the day.
Some things in life you will always remember. The talk that our Master Sargent and Battalion Commander shared with us cadets after Wednesday’s PRT is one of these critical moments. Master Sergeant stressed the fact that every cadet should leave PRT knowing that they have all reached muscle failure and have finished a good workout. The Battalion commander shared with us the value of remaining physically fit and doing well on the PRT test. He also stressed the importance of cadets having a high grade point Average; at the end of the day, a cadet’s grades are weighed more heavily that his or her PRT score when determining which Branch of the Army a cadet will be placed in.
Because of this, every member of the Golden Knight Battalion is expected to exhibit the qualities of athletic scholars who have made a voluntary decision to defend and protect America’s liberties and freedoms.

What happened to Hansel and Gretel?

OK...So the whole story of Hansel and Gretel has been twisted.  We all know the general outline of the story.  It started  (in 1910), with a poor mom and dad.  Why were they poor?  Because Hansel and Gretel were lazy children, not wanting or knowing how to do chores, or help mom and dad.  So, mom and dad lose the kids intentionally.  The kids find a house of candy.  As soon as they are trapped, it turns back into a house of wood and glass.  The candy was only an illusion.  They are worked to death.  The eventually run away, thinking that the witch, who is perpetually on crutches, will not be able to catch them.  She starts using one of her crutches, "like a horse."  They go across a lake that suddenly pops up, using a swans back.  When they get back home, they are willing and able to help mom & dad, not being lazy anymore, thanx to the witch, and the family gets. rich.  Hansel and Gretel does have a moral!  And they don't kill the witch, either!

Man's relationship with God

I've recently been thinking alot about our relationship with God.  Almost every Christian can tell you that before salvation, man has no friendly relationship towards God.  God has no friendly feelings towards the unsaved man either.  But after salvation, God has already expended His wrath for certain men, spilling His Son's blood.  "So there is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1  He is our Father, and He gives us EVERYTHING here, even sin, to work for our benefit and God's glory.

It's snowing in Georgia!

I wrote this perfectly cool looking blog on mtv.com just a day ago. There were emoticons and different colors and font sizes and moving graphics to make it look all interesting. However... a blog for youniversitytv... what do I say & who will listen?

[In reference to] how I came about writing this blog: It's snowing in Georgia!! Of corse in the south it hardly ever snow and a snow storm = PANIC. Along with the rush of people in grocery stores (resulting in empty shelves) school has been out ALL week (it feels awsome). From the week of chillaxing I decided to visit youniversitytv & write me a blog. Yup :)

That's all for now... more blog entries to come in the near future. L8erz :P
