Everybody knows that feeling during Prom season that you're supposed to have a date because it's "Prom". But excuse me for not understand the connection at all. Why should I have to have a date just because it's prom? I can understand going to Prom with your boyfriend or girlfriend but if you're not in a relationship with anybody, and you're not serioulsy interested in somebody then why go through an extensive search for a date just because it's "prom". You're telling me that you would go with somebody that you don't "like" somebody that you don't even know just so that you'll have a date. Where is the logic in that? Just go by yourself, go by yourself and have fun. I mean, yes, this is coming from a feminist who doesn't generally enjoy dates to begin with but I still think it's rediculous to get a date for prom basically just so that you have some guy to take pictures with. Really?
I know that I had this Monday off because I went down to Mary Washington but geeezzz...this week felt like it went on forever!! I seriously thought that it would never end! I'm so glad that it's Friday and it's kind of nice that I have no plans. I think I'm just going to relax at home tonight...I'm really looking forward to it :) haha!
Unexpected three day weekend? :) My friend Lindsay invited me to go down to Mary Washington with her for the accepted student day this past Monday. Originially I wasn't going to go because I felt like I knew everything that I could possibly need to know but since I was invited, why not? haha! It was a lot of fun! The student panel was really interesting, they answered all the questions that anybody had and also talked about how they ended up at Mary Washington/why they chose it. We also got to go to a lecture and it was so interesting! The proffesor was one of the most interesting people I've ever heard...haha..I'm so excited to start classes! But even more excited for the classes that I'll get to take when I'm a junior and senior! That's still a ways a way though! haha!
This past Saturday was a lot of fun! On Saturday I went with my family to a National's game that was vs. the Brewers and they won! The Nationals weren't very good last year at all but they have seriously improved! Then I went with my family to one of my mom's friend's parties which was pretty fun. It was a very packed day!!
Yesterday I hung out with Savannah afterschool and we talked about Mary Washington and what it's going to be like! We're so excited but I'm scared at the same time...I can't imagine not seeing my family every day. My other best friend, Lindsay that goes to my school has also decided that she's going to go to Mary Washington so we're so excited! It's going to be a blast to go to college with the two of them and it makes me feel a lot more comfortable going away because I know that I have a support system right there with me. Okay, well I gotta go write my story for the school newspaper.
So I've started to look for dresses. I went to dbprom.com which has some good choice but nothing really jumped out at me. I also went to seventeen.com because they have a program that helps you find a prom dress by asking you a couple of questions and then showing you some choices and giving you the dress's website link. Nothing really jumped out at me on there either but the seventeen program was good for just getting other prom dress websites that I could go to and look at their selection. I'm glad I have a couple of months though because I have absolutely no idea what kind of prom dress I want. All I know is that I want an interesting back on my dress and I want it to be a color.
First week back at school after Spring Break and I really though that it was going to be the roughest week ever but surprisingly it's gone really well! I don't have very much work and with it being about 95 degrees out everyday, it makes the classrooms seem a lot happier and makes class go by faster!
Hey everyone! I have big news today! I committed to the University of Mary Washington! It really feels like I just started doing all of these blogs, and that I was just starting to look at schools and apply! And now I know where I'm going and I've committed and everything! Time goes by so fast! I only have two more serious months of school and I know that it's going to fly by!
Hey everyone! Sorry It's been a little while since I lasted posted, I was sick in bed all last week because of my allergies! On Friday I actually had a temperature of 102!! It was really scary but I've gotten some medicine that's working and am feeling a lot better now! I found out last week that I got accepted to JMU! I don't really want to go there but it's still extremely exciting that I got accepted because it's a really competitive school!
SOOO...on Saturday I was about to go out with my mom when she checked the mail, even though usually we don't get it that early it was there. And my acceptance letter to the University of Mary Washington was there!! I was not expecting to get it on Saturday at all! I'm so extremely excited! I want to go to this school so bad! My best friend, Savannah and I are going to room together! We're getting together tomorrow to start planning everything out! I'm so excited! Oh my gosh! It's gonna be such a blast! I won't be very far away from home and it's such a nice school and I get to room with my best friend! It's going to be amazing! I was looking over all of the important dates that UMW gave me and I found out that my winter break next year will be a month long and I get out for summer break next year on April 30th!! I can't imagine how different it's going to be from high school! I just want to get out of here already!
